Howard Berk wrote for many top network shows of the 1970s and ’80s, including “Counter Gambit,” the first episode of THE ROCKFORD FILES to feature Angel Martin, and “By Dawn’s Early Light,” the episode of COLUMBO for which Patrick McGoohan won the first of his two Emmy Awards.
