  1. DARK JOURNEY
    Original Airdate: Mar. 12, 1972

Synopsis. Claude Akins and Lindsay Wagner star as Jason and Laurie Peale, a father and daughter confidence team that specializes in high-stakes swindles. As part of his M.O., Peale passes himself off as someone who is “well known by reputation, but unknown to his victims,” yet never reveals too much about himself for his marks to identify him. After conning a Boston stockbroker out of  $30,000, the Peales board a train for Rockford, Arizona, where they lure a real estate company into investing $100,000 in a bogus industrial shopping complex. The operation hits a snag, however, when a local jeweler embroils the Peales with a loan shark who knows that Jason is a phony. Meanwhile, Jason’s fondness for ginseng tea plays a key role in Erskine’s investigation.
