Synopsis. Physical evidence found at the scene of an armored truck robbery puts Erskine on the trail of Ernie Cahn (played by Harvey Keitel), a brash, ambitious one-time National Guard misfit who pulled off the heist on behalf of Michigan mob boss Sid Alpert (played by Don Gordon). After netting more than $700,000 in negotiable securities, the narcissistic but delusional Cahn sees the theft as a springboard for a bigger role in the organization. When Cahn starts bragging about his participation in the armored rob theft, however, Alpert must eliminate him. But Cahn proves more formidable than anticipated.
