    Original Airdate: Mar. 8, 1970

Synopsis. Erskine believes that Walker Carr (played by Earl Holliman), a federal fugitive from a state mental institution, has returned route to his hometown of Mount Vernon, New York in a desperate quest to clear himself of the murder of his wife, Barbara. While circumstantial evidence strongly suggests that Carr committed the crime, a response from a newspaper ad taken out by Carr’s domineering father (played by Larry Gates)—who believes that his son is innocent—may prove that Barbara is alive after all. Meanwhile, after speaking with Carr’s psychiatrist (Russell Johnson), even Erskine has reason to doubt Carr’s guilt. But a confrontation at the Westchester County Fairgrounds reveals a startling truth.
