Synopsis. Erskine travels to Mexico to escort Maria Sandoval (played by Pilar Seurat) to Washington, D.C., where she is slated to testify that the activities of her cousin, Roberto Sandoval, the dictator of a Central American country, are Communist-inspired and oriented. After a departure delay due to heavy rains, the plane crashes near the Ocho mountains in Arizona after it is hijacked by Miguel Torres (played by Alejandro Rey)—a military man tasked by Roberto with abducting Maria and returning her to her home nation. All but the pilot survive. A severe ankle injury, however, prevents Maria from walking. The gun-wielding Torres orders Erskine and the fourth passenger, Victor Green (Norman Fell), to help him bring Maria to Mexico, where they can catch another plane to Central America. But a single glass lens may help the inspector return Maria to safety.
