This week’s show will include a return appearance by Dee Wallace, the award-winning actress and legendary “scream queen” who is also an accomplished and sought-after teacher, author, speaker, and radio host. Dee’s weekly radio program, Conscious Creation, emphasizes the principle of empowerment, plus she conducts monthly webinars and private sessions all over the world.

Calendar year 2022 marks the 40th anniversary of the release of E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, the sci-fi family classic directed by Steven Spielberg that also made Dee Wallace a star. The tremendous success of E.T. not only changed the course of Dee’s life as an actress, but allowed her to change and expand how she saw herself as a person. While that may sound a little “heady,” it actually isn’t—and Dee explains why in her new book, Born: Giving Birth to a New You, a hands-on, reader-friendly guide to the principles of self-creation that Dee has taught and lived by for most of her life.

Born not only shows how spirituality, brain science, and religion all teach the same principles that can help us create the life we want, but illustrates how we can all learn the principles of creation by following the example of E.T. and accepting the power of love. As Dee herself puts it in Born, redirecting our inner energy to achieve what we want in life can really be as simple as making ice. Dee Wallace will join us in our second hour.

Dee Wallace also recently published a children’s book, Buppa LaPaloo and The I Love Mes: The Most Powerful Little Bear on the Planet. Both Born and Buppa LaPaloo and The I Love Mes are available wherever books are sold online (as well as at IAmDeeWallace.com), while Dee’s latest movie, Every Time a Bell Rings, airs several times throughout December on The Hallmark Channel. Dee Wallace is also among the many celebrities who are scheduled to participate in the Hollywood Museum’s inaugural Celebrity Authors Forum, which will take place Saturday, Dec. 11 from 11am to 4pm. Click here for details and more information.

Also this week: We will welcome back David Koenig, author of Mouse Tales: A Behind the Ears Look at Disneyland, Danny Kaye: King of Jesters, and other pop culture titles.

David’s latest book, Shooting Columbo: The Lives and Deaths of TV’s Rumpled Detective, takes us behind the scenes of the production of Columbo, the groundbreaking mystery series starring Peter Falk and created by Richard Levinson and William Link that celebrates its fiftieth anniversary on television this fall (although the Columbo character first emerged more than sixty years ago, in a live production of Enough Rope that aired on The Chevy Mystery Show in the summer in 1960). Columbo’s network run spanned thirty-five years—first on NBC, then on ABC—while the series remains one of the few network TV shows that was never really canceled.

Yet both NBC and ABC let Columbo wither away and die, so to speak, even though Peter Falk always maintained a desire to keep the series going. It’s one of those mysteries that will never really be solved—although David comes as close as the Lieutenant himself to resolving the matter in Shooting Columbo. Featuring a treasure trove of behind the scenes production information, Shooting Columbo provides a blow by blow account of Peter Falk’s endless battles with Universal Studios over the production of the series, plus a fun look at how the various locations in Beverly Hills were chosen, the answers to such burning questions as “What was Columbo’s first name?” and a whole lot more. David Koenig joins us in our first hour.
