This date in MAVERICK TV History: James Garner files a cross-complaint against Warner Bros. on Apr. 26, 1960, reiterating his claim that the studio had breached his contract by suspending payment of his salary. The ensuing legal battle set in motion a chain of events that not only changed the course of Garner’s career, but led to the demise of MAVERICK.
