Synopsis. Victor Lamport (played by Charles Cioffi) uses his trucking company to front a syndicate operation that targets his competitors. Twenty-seven hijackings have occurred over the past six months, forcing more than half of Lamport’s rivals into bankruptcy. Though Erskine has no hard evidence linking Lamport to the crimes, Lamport Trucking is the only line that has managed to prosper despite the rash of hijackings. When Lamport tries to cut ties with the syndicate, his own life becomes endangered. To bring down the operation, Erskine must prevent the mob from bumping off Lamport.
