  1. THE COBER LIST
    Original Airdate: Mar. 23, 1969

Synopsis. An attempt on the life of Miami mob boss Frank Lanner (played by Fred Beir) provides the impetus for the Bureau’s investigation into the racketeering operation run by two of the sons of Ignatius “Inky” Cober (played by Harold J. Stone), a rival chieftain who is now retired. Though Erskine hopes to shut down both Lanner and the Cobers, the inspector’s real quarry is the list of between 150 and 200 numbers joints and numbers drops throughout Florida and Georgia that comprise the Cober operation. The list was last known to be in Inky’s possession. The key to the case: Erskine must somehow forge an alliance with Inky’s son Matthew (Rudy Solari)—the only member of the Cober family who is not entwined with the mob.
