TV CONFIDENTIAL Show No. 599.1 with guest Randy West is now available online for listening on demand as a free podcast

Randy West on Robert Stack and Desi Arnaz
Original Airdates: Dec. 9-12, 2022
TVC 599.1: Part 2 of a two-part conversation that began just before Thanksgiving with longtime television announcer, voice artist, and raconteur Randy West. Randy’s latest book, TV Inside Out: Flukes, Flakes, Feuds and Felonies, provides a backstage pass to the truest form of reality TV: both the outrageous behavior that many stars exhibit in their pursuit of success, and the inspiring stories of television performers who beat the odds and enjoy their success while still living by The Golden Rule. Many of the stars profiled in TV Inside Out are people that Randy either worked with in television or encountered directly. In this segment, for example, Randy relays a conversation that he had many years ago with Robert Stack about the controversy that swirled behind the scenes of The Untouchables, prior to production of that show’s two-hour pilot, that included mob threats against the life of executive producer Desi Arnaz.

Randy West, Jim Peck, and The Big ShowDown
Original Airdates: Dec. 9-12, 2022
TVC 599.2: Television announcer, voice artist, and raconteur Randy West talks about the three components that every good game show host must have (as relayed to him by game show impresario Mark Goodson). Also in this segment: Ed and Randy discuss how, in many ways, the experience of game show host Jim Peck (The Big ShowDown) illustrates the key point about success that Randy makes in his new book, TV Inside Out.

TV Inside Out: Flukes, Flakes, Feuds and Felonies is available wherever books are sold online. For more on Randy, visit
