via Jonas Public Relations: Carl Reiner donates items from his career to the National Comedy Center, including the toupee he wore while playing Alan Brady on The Dick Van Dyke Show

Items from the remarkable career of Carl Reiner, including the hairpiece that he famously wore while portraying Alan Brady on The Dick Van Dyke Show, will join more than seventy-five comedy artifacts in the galleries of the National Comedy Center, which will open its doors to the public for the first time on Wednesday, August 1 in Jamestown, New York. Jamestown, of course, is the birthplace of another comedy legend, Lucille Ball.

The accompanying photo shows Reiner modeling the hairpiece as he prepares it for shipment to Jamestown. The Emmy Award-winning writer, producer, actor and director is also a member of the Center’s Advisory Board.
