Synopsis. In Texas, Erskine and Colby investigate the disappearance of Joyce Nelson (played by Lynda Day George), a convicted bank robber who seduces, marries, and then murders an Army sergeant to collect on a $10,000 insurance policy. After fleeing to Matsonville, Missouri, Joyce tries to go straight, only to find herself embroiled in a scheme orchestrated by her boyfriend (played by Glenn Corbett) to swindle another serviceman.
