Synopsis. The brutal shooting of a New York state policeman puts Erskine on the trail of Dree Foster (played by Robert Drivas), a charismatic yet sociopathic young man who recruits teenage runaways to help him pull off robberies. The investigation leads to a cross-country search that culminates in Arizona, where Foster attempts to free his brother, Grant, who faces sentencing for the murder of a police officer—a crime that Foster committed. Key clues include a used cotton swab with oil of cloves, a known remedy for toothaches.
