What do you get when eleven singers who are best girlfriends get together? Lunch, laughs, stories, and lots and lots of songs. Dubbing themselves The Chickies more than three years ago, their fabulous in-person monthly lunches morphed into monthly Zooms. Wanting to contribute in this difficult time, the women decided to do what they do best: sing! And they’ll do just that in The Fabulous Chickies: In Concert, a live benefit concert for the Actors Fund that will be streamed Saturday, Oct. 3 at 8pm ET 5pm PT on The Actors Fund YouTube channel. The concert is free, but donations to the Actors Fund are requested.
The eleven Chickies are EILEEN BARNETT (Days of Our Lives, Nine), singer/songwriter MICHELE BROURMAN, NANCY DUSSAULT (Bajour, Do-Re-Mi, The In-Laws, Too Close for Comfort, The New Dick Van Dyke Show), JULIE GARNYÉ (Come From Away, Cats, Chicago, Mamma Mia!), singer/songwriter SHELLY GOLDSTEIN, ILENE GRAFF (Promises, Promises, Grease, Mr. Belvedere), DANA MELLER (Les Miserables, The Full Monty), KAREN MORROW (I Had a Ball,The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Cabaret Tonight, Tabitha), VALERIE PERRI (Evita, Jerome Robbins’ Broadway), JOAN RYAN (Ruthless!), and LISA VROMAN (Phantom of the Opera, Johanna, Sweeney Todd in Concert).
Featuring songs from each of their illustrious Broadway, cabaret, and concert careers, The Fabulous Chickies in Concert will showcase the ladies’ unique friendship and talents. The program will include each Chickie in a solo performance, as well as two bonus group numbers.
