Known around the world as Abby Cunningham Ewing on Knots Landing, as well as for her Emmy-winning performance as Madeline Reeves on General Hospital, Donna Mills recently launched a new business that is straight out of Falcon Crest: She—along with her partner, Larry Gilman—own and operate Mandeville Vineyards, the first, and only, producer of estate-grown and bottled Malbec in Los Angeles, including an award winning, 2016 Reserve Malbec/Cabernet Blend. Donna, however, was initially reluctant about becoming a winemaker. We’ll ask her how she overcame her reservations, plus we’ll talk about the fortieth anniversary of Knots Landing, and more. Donna Mills will join us in our second hour.
Donna Mills stars, along with Lee Purcell, Geri Jewell, Donna Pescow, RJ Mitte, and Andrea F. Friedman, in Carol of the Bells, the award-winning holiday-themed drama produced and directed by Joey Travolta and his company, Inclusion Films, that will change the way you think about people with disabilities. Inclusion Films teaches and employs people in the film industry who have developmental and physical disabilities. Carol of the Bells will be released soon for viewing on demand.
Donna Mills can also be seen in Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses, which premieres Nov. 17 on the Hallmark Channel (with replays throughout the holiday season). She’s also one of the cast members of Turnover, the award-winning comedy drama featuring Paul Guifoyle, Beverly Todd, and Kat Kramer that becomes available on DVD in December. You can also see her in Mood Swings, a new comedy series from the streaming service Pure Flix about four generations of women who find themselves thrown together by circumstance and living under one roof. New episodes of Mood Swings premiere every Thursday on Pure Flix.
This week’s program will also include Part 2 of our conversation with longtime stage and television actor David Starzyk. Known to fans of Veronica Mars as villainous real estate mogul Richard Casablancas, David’s other TV credits include recurring roles on Desperate Housewives, Seventh Heaven, NYPD Blue, Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, Boston Legal, and TV Land’s Hot in Cleveland. Indeed, David’s appearances on Hot in Cleveland include the famous episode that also marked the final screen appearance of Mary Tyler Moore. David Starzyk will also join us in our second hour.
