Actress, comedienne and producer Kat Kramer will join us this week as we continue to spotlight new shows or new movies that we think you’ll enjoy during this time of sheltering in place. Kat is one of the producers, as well as one of the cast members, of Turnover, an uplifting independent film that celebrates the resilience that resides in all of us, particularly after life suddenly throws us a curve. Co-written and directed by Linda Palmer, and also featuring Paul Guilfoyle, Donna Mills, Beverly Todd, and many other familiar faces, Turnover is currently available for viewing on demand on Amazon Prime.

(clockwise L to R) Kat Kramer, Paul Guilfoyle and Daniel Hoffman from TURNOVER
We’ll talk to Kat about Turnover, plus we’ll ask her about some of her other upcoming projects, including the independent drama Mother’s Day Memories. And since we’ll all at home these days, we’ll ask Kat to recommend some films of her father, Oscar-nominated and Golden Globe Award-winning producer/director Stanley Kramer, to watch or revisit this month. Kat Kramer will join us in our second hour.

Phil Savenick (left), curator of the virtual museum at TheHistoryofTV.com, with host Ed Robertson during Ed’s visit in January 2020. Ed is holding the Emmy Award that First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy won in 1962 for hosting A Tour of The White House. That Emmy is among the authentic artifacts from the Golden Age of Television that are on display at TheHistoryofTV.com
Also joining us this week will be three-time Emmy nominated writer producer Phil Savenick. In the course of his thirty-five-year career in television, Phil created many highly regarded compilation documentaries concerning TV and its history, including the 50th anniversary special for CBS, the 40th anniversary special for ABC, the 20th anniversary specials for HBO and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, as well as tribute programs to such landmark shows as M*A*S*H and Monty Python’s Flying Circus. Phil also has a long history with Disney and MTV, plus he produced such acclaimed documentary series as That’s Hollywood and The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau. After retiring from TV production, Phil decided to devote the third act of his life to expressing the impact that the medium of television continues to have all over the world. That expression takes several forms, including paintings; preservation of authentic TV artifacts from the Golden Age of Television, including the Fickle Finger of Fate from Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In and the Emmy that First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy won in 1962 for hosting A Tour of the White House; and curating a virtual museum devoted to television, which you can see at TheHistoryofTV.com.
The mission statement of TheHistoryofTV.com is to celebrate the life and career of Philo T. Farnsworth, the man who invented television when he was age fourteen, but who died penniless and in obscurity after countless years of court battles with RCA over primacy of the medium. Phil’s museum includes many authentic Farnsworth artifacts (including the original drawing for Farnsworth’s first camera), plus the most impressive collection of vintage TV sets that you will ever see. Phil Savenick will join us in our first hour.
