Coming soon to TV CONFIDENTIAL: Actress, author, playwright, speaker, and civil rights activist DONZALEIGH ABERNATHY (Any Day Now) on carrying the legacy of her father, the Rev. Ralph David Abernathy, and her godfather, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., through her work as an artist; how Ralph encouraged Donzaleigh to pursue her career as an actress just before he died; and the direct line between Donzaleigh and National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman. Donzaleigh is the lead soloist on “The Listening,” a unique social justice choral project inspired by “Beyond Vietnam: A Time for Break Silence,” a speech delivered by Dr. King in April 1967. “The Listening” will be officially released on Friday 2/12; go to CBEMusic.co/TheListening for more information. Donzaleigh will also discuss her book PARTNERS TO HISTORY: Martin Luther King Jr., Ralph David Abernathy, and The Civil Rights Movement in a Zoom talk hosted by the Pasadena Public Library on Saturday 2/27 beginning at 2pm. Registration for this event is free; go to CityofPasadena.net/library/calendar/ for more information
