This week’s show will include Part 2 of our conversation with actor Neil Sandilands (The 100, Hap and Leonard, Frank and Ava). Not only will Neil share more insight into playing arch villain Clifford Devoe, The Thinker, on Season Four of The Flash, he’ll talk about a last-minute adjustment he had to make in his portrayal of Devoe just before the cameras rolled on the very first day of production. Neil Sandilands will join us in our second hour. The season finale of The Flash airs Tuesday, May 22 on The CW.
Also joining us this week will be Georgiana “Noopy” Rodrigues, the daughter of the one and only Rose Marie. An accomplished television producer in her own right, Noopy was actively involved behind the scenes of the production of Wait For Your Laugh, the acclaimed documentary about the life and career of Rose Marie that will air Friday, May 18 on the Decades Channel. There is an exciting new development about Wait For Your Laugh, which Noopy will reveal on our program.
The main purpose behind Noopy’s appearance this week, however, is to discuss identity theft, an issue that affects thousands of families across the United States—including the family of Rose Marie. According to law enforcement officials, obituaries are the one of the top sources of information of identity thieves. Perpetrators know that when families lose a loved one, particularly when the death is sudden, they can be so overwhelmed with grief, and attending to the details of the funeral, that they may not pay as close attention to their checking account or credit card usage in the days immediately following the death as they normally would.
That is what happened to Noopy: Ten days after Rose Marie’s death, she discovered that her mother’s identity had been stolen—and though she and her family have recouped their loss, the perpetrator remains at large. By sharing her story, and discussing what she has learned, Noopy hopes to raise awareness of this important issue for the benefit of our listeners. Georgiana Noopy Rodrigues will join us in our second hour.
Also this week: We will share with you an amazing story. Not too many people get a chance to meet their favorite TV star. Even fewer get a chance to become friends with that star—and even fewer than that get a chance to help that star write a book and help that book get published. All of those things happened to William J. Jankowski. In Bill’s case, the star was Patty Duke, and their friendship began in 1997 and lasted until the day she died in March 2016.
At the time of her death, Bill was helping Patty Duke write a book, In the Presence of Greatness: My Sixty-Year Journey as an Actress, that not only shares many stories about her show business career, but gives you a honest glimpse of the Patty Duke—or, we should say, Anna Pearce—that Bill got to know over the last two decades of her life. William Jankowski will join us in our first hour.
