HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — June 10, 2020 — Donelle Dadigan, founder and president of The Hollywood Museum, in partnership with Los Angeles City Council member Mitch O’Farrell (CD13), announced earlier today that the Museum will hold its annual REAL to REEL celebration virtually this year as part of a televised event.

REAL to REEL: The Virtual Edition will air on Thursday, June 18 beginning at 7pm PT on LA Cityview Channel 35 as well as live-streamed on all Hollywood Museum social platforms (including Facebook and Instagram) and TheHollywoodMuseum.com. Michael Feinstein (pictured above, right), keeper of the Great American Songbook, will receive this year’s Inspiration Award, while the evening will also include a special appearance by Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth (pictured above, left).

One of the Museum’s most popular exhibits, REAL to REEL is an educational, entertaining and informative retrospective that chronicles the LGBTQ community’s many contributions to film, TV, and new digital platforms over the past century. With the Museum temporarily closed, however, due to COVID-19, the decision was made to present this year’s exhibit as a televised event.  “The Hollywood Museum welcomes the opportunity to create and showcase this important exhibition by sharing the artistic expression and extraordinary significance of the LGBTQ culture and its effect and impact on the world through the medium of entertainment with the public,” adds Dadigan.
