via Disney Parks Blog: As long as we’re Monkee-ing around, our colleague Greg Ehrbar thought you’d enjoy his interview with Micky Dolenz from May 2012, when Micky performed at the annual Epcot Center Flower Power Concert, carrying on the tradition of Davy Jones

As long as we’ve been Monkee-ing around the past two weeks along with Chuck Harter, our colleague Greg Ehrbar was kind enough to share this article he wrote in May 2012 for the Disney Parks Blog, and for which Greg interviewed Micky Dolenz on the eve of Micky’s performance that year at the annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival’s Flower Power Concert Series. As some of you may know, for many years Davy Jones performed as part of the Flower Power series; his concerts were a highlight each year. When Davy died suddenly on Feb. 29, 2012, just a few weeks before that year’s Epcot concert, Micky was kind enough to step in for Davy and carry on the tradition. Micky performed that year, along with his sister Coco. As Greg recalls, “It was an emotional experience for everyone.”

Micky not only shared a few memories about Davy during his conversation with Greg, but talked about his voice work in animated series (including The Tick and The Funky Phantom), his many other Disney connections, and how he was once considered to become the new voice of Mickey Mouse:
