  1. SUMMER TERROR
    Original Airdate: Feb. 8, 1970

Synopsis. Convicted manslaughterer Alex Drake (played by Joe Don Baker) kidnaps Mary Ann Lowe, the daughter of a wealthy Washington, D.C. businessman (played by Lin McCarthy), near a campsite and demands $250,000 for her release. Curious as to why Mary Ann was abducted near the campsite instead of closer to home, Erskine correctly deduces that Drake knew the girl’s schedule—a hunch that  leads to a connection between Drake and Mary Ann’s hairdresser, Cathy Wheaton (played by Beverlee McKinsey). As part of the plan, Cathy is supposed to pick up the ransom money and rendezvous with Drake in New York. Drake, however, intends to kill Mary Ann once the ransom is delivered.
