Announced today, Tuesday 4/16 (Edie Adams’ birthday) — May 2019 will be a big month for the Ernie Kovacs centennial (and for Edie Adams fans, too) as the estates for Ernie Kovacs and Edie Adams have confirmed the following three events:
As part of the Library of Congress’ yearlong initiative exploring America’s Changemakers, the Packard Campus Theater presents an evening of highlights from the career of comic genius and television pioneer Ernie Kovacs (1919-1962). Clip program of Kovacs commemorating the 100th birthday of Television’s Original Genius will be hosted by Kovacs archivist Ben Model and Ernie Kovacs and Edie Adams estate director Josh Mills.
The Library will present this program of memorable moments from Edie Adams’ successful and inventive variety series, Here’s Edie (ABC, 1962-64), along with other highlights from her career. Hosted by Josh Mills (Edie’s son, and the directors of the estates of Edie Adams and Ernie Kovacs) and Ben Model, archivist for the Kovacs/Adams collection.
